Marte studied at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and is a Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, and is also a Certified Yoga Teacher.
Her journey of exploring mindfulness and meditation began the same as many others do—through a period of deep personal suffering. She found that meditation and yoga were some of the only things that provided her with relief. Through her practice, she found increased freedom and ease in her life.
Once her path led her to begin teaching meditation, she knew she had found her calling. Through ShalOM Mindfulness, she shares the meditation and mindfulness practices that help others experience an increased presence of joy.
Marte earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law. She practiced commercial and bankruptcy law in South Florida before turning her attention to her family and philanthropic and civic matters.
A Jew by choice, Marte was raised in the Protestant faith, and converted to Judaism awaiting the birth of her first daughter. She serves on the Board of Temple Beth Sholom on Miami Beach and on the Board of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.
